June 28, 2024 - Eora/Sydney based artist Bobby Uncle has dropped his latest slice of pop-perfection titled ‘Coffee’.The incredibly infectious track is the talented up-and-comers 2nd release for the year, following on from ‘Summertime (make it happen)’ released back in February.
June 15, 2024 -I wrote the melodies to the entire track on acoustic guitar around late November. I had a gig on Dec. 9th and wanted to advertise it on my instagram by singing an unreleased song. At the time, I only had written lyrics for the chorus as I was anxiously into this girl I was seeing. I laid down the guitar riff in Logic and started filming myself singing over it.. I was quite emotional at the time which added cadence to the chorus which I would not have added previously. Fast-forward, the gig was a successful night musically, but not for my relationship with this person. A few days later, I wrote the lyrics for the verses and pre-chorus.” BOBBY UNCLE
Feb 9, 2024 - Last month we were treated to the shimmering synths and bedroom pop stylings of Pendulum, the infinitely catchy single from Sydney singer-songwriter Bobby Uncle.
The track found Uncle wrestling with his mood swings, as soundtracked by sparse electronic production and the croon of his buttery vocals. “I remember thinking ‘Is this a Harry Styles song?’, Uncle told us of the earworm hook that birthed Pendulum.
Jan 18, 2024 - Like any great indie pop cut, Pendulum seamlessly combines traditional instrumentation — like summery guitar riffs and clicky percussive moments — with electronic elements.
Here, whirring synths accompany Uncle’s voice, which on the chorus becomes distorted with a hazy vocoder flair. Pulling together such eclectic sounds, Uncle coalesces the track around an insatiable, ever-catchy rhythm, and some truly earwormy refrains.
